How long does it take for concrete to go off (cures)?
The chemical reaction that takes place within a concrete mix begins as soon as the cement and water are mixed together. This means that the customer usually has between one and two hours to finish laying the concrete. Higher strength mixes will generally give you less working time than lower grades. Please ensure you have enough people to complete the job in time before the concrete cures.
Procedures to laying concrete on a surface to prevent cracks.
Floor vapour barriers and curing agent can help keep the moisture in the concrete to prevent the concrete drying excessively and causing unnecessary cracks.
